Mural Painting Photos

Hihi.. hope everyone's been having a great holidays so far...

here are some photos from the mural painting cip, they emailed us already, and i've decided to post them here so as to embellish this event into the historical tapestry of 06s7d forever, as well as to show every1 else what we did! (read jane's earlier post for more info)

Wall of flowers, each flower so different from the rest just like how we are all unique individuals but when we come together as 06S7D, we form a diverse and amazing class.

Presenting: The people who painted the mural. (Not in picture as they left early: Alvin and Yong Zi - erm not sure if i missed out any1 else..)

Close up. On the top right hand corner of the wall you can see some white characters, those are actually "06S7D" with each letter painted by each of the 5 of us remaining at the end!

Bored? Another joke.

Taken from the Jokes board of a game.

Cows and YOUR Gov't.

FEUDALISM: You have two cows. Your lord takes some of the milk.

PURE SOCIALISM: You have two cows. The government takes them and puts them in a barn with everyone else's cows. You have to take care of all the cows. The government gives you as much milk as you needed.

BUREAUCRATIC SOCIALISM: You have two cows. The goverment takes them and puts them in a barn with everyone else's cows. They are cared for by ex-chicken farmers. You have to take care of the chickens the government took from the chicken farmers. The government gives you as much milk and as many eggs as the regulations say you should need.

FASCISM: You have two cows. The government takes both, hires you to take care of them, and sells you the milk.

PURE COMMUNISM: You have two cows. Your neighbours help you take care of them, and you all share the milk.

RUSSIAN COMMUNISM: You have two cows. You have to take care of them, but the government takes all the milk.

DICTATORSHIP: You have two cows. The government takes both and shoots you.

SINGAPOREAN DEMOCRACY: You have two cows. The government fines you for keeping two unlicensed farm animals in an apartment.

MILITATIANISM: You have two cows. The government takes both and drafts you.

PURE DEMOCRACY: You have two cows. Your neighbours decide who gets the milk.

REPRESENTATIVE DEMOCRACY: You have two cows. Your neighbours pick someone to tell you who gets the milk.

AMERICAN DEMOCRACY: The government promises to give you two cows if you vote for it. After the election, the president is impeached for: A) speculating in cow futures and the press dubs the affair "Cowgate", B) Sleeping with one of the cows, then denying it, then admiting it after a leather blazer with milk stains are presented as evidence, and then the president is charged with treason, C) you plan to impeach the president for lack of intelligence and for talking like a goat.

BRITISH DEMOCRACY: You have two cows. You feed them sheep's brains and they go mad. The government doesn't do anything about it.

FRENCH DEMOCRACY:You have two cows. You go on strike because you want three cows. You go to lunch and have a bottle of wine. Life is good.

AMERICAN REPUBLICAN: You have two cows. Your neighbour has none. So?

CONSTITUTIONAL MONARCHY of JAPAN: You have two cows. You redesign them so they are one-tenth the size of an ordinary cow and produce twenty times the milk. They learn to travel on unbelievably crowded trains. Most are at the top of their class at cow school. Forty years later you get milk.

BUREAUCRACY: You have two cows. At first the government regulates what you feed them and when you can milk them. Then it pays you not to milk them. After that, it takes both, shoots one, milks the other, and pours the milk down the drain. Then it requires you to fill out forms accounting for the missing cow.

ANARCHY: You have two cows. Either you sell the milk at a fair price or your neighbours try to kill you and take the cows.

CAPITALISM: You have two cows. You sell one and buy a bull.

HONG KONG CAPITALISM: You have two cows. You sell three of them to your publicly listed company, using letters of credit opened by your brother-in-law at the bank, then execute a debt/equity swap with associated general offer so that you get all four cows back, with a tax deduction for keeping five cows. The milk rights of six cows are transferred via a Panamanian Intermediary to a Cayman Islands company secretly owned by the majority shareholder, who sells the rights to all seven cows' milk back to the listed company. The annual report says that the company owns eight cows, with an option on one more. Meanwhile, you kill two cows because the Feng Shui is bad.

ENVIRONMENTALISM: You have two cows. The government forbids you to milk or kill them.

TOTALITARIANISM: You have two cows. The government takes them and denies they ever existed. Milk is banned.

SURREALISM: You have two giraffes. The government requires you to take harmonica lessons.

LIBERTARIANISM: You have two cows. One has actually read the Constitution, believes in it, and has some really good ideas about government. The cow runs for office, and while most people agree that the cow is the best candidate, nobody except the other cow votes for her because they think it would be "throwing their vote away."

IN FLORIDA: You have a black cow and a brown cow. Everyone votes for the best looking one. Your brother gets to count the votes. Some of the people who like the brown one best, vote for the black one. Some people vote for both. Some people vote for neither. Some people can't figure out how to vote at all. Finally, a bunch of cow experts from out-of-state tell you which is the best-looking one.

IN CALIFORNIA: You have thirty four million bovine. It's like a melting pot for cows and bulls of all walks of life. Different flavours, different colours. They all make real California cheese. Half the cows marry other cows and the other half of the bulls marry other bulls. Only five speak fluent English. Most are illegal. The head cow, an Austrian breed, is conervative but likes the ones with the big udders the most.

IN IRAQ: You have two cows. They go into hiding. They send audio tapes of their mooing.

WITH THE TALIBAN: You have all the cows in Afghanistan, which are two. You don't milk them because you cannot touch any creature's private parts. You get a $40 million grant from the US government to find alternatives to milk production but use the money to buy weapons.

FEDERAL REPUBLIC of INDIA: You have two cows. You worship both of them as deities, and offer them milk. Rats take over the temple and you worship them as well as offer them milk. You are not allowed to milk or kill the cows, for it would mean your own death. You live in poverty, yet enlightened.

Cheers =p

Class Chalet!

Hey people! I'm not here to blog about class chalet but at least i'll be posting up a few of the more sucessful pictures that we took during class chalet! XD The rest will probably be in egroups after a few days because my yahoo refuses to upload my photos.

But but but: I LEARNT HOW TO RIDE A BIKE! OMG! XD thanks to : nik (who had a hand in teaching me), andrew (for teaching me and coming up with that leaning against the pole idea), yongzi (for leading me and i'm sorry for crashing into you! =/), mrlee (for screaming "CAR CAR" when we were on the main roads, bensing (for biking faster and faster), jane (for forcing me to learn!) and everyone else (like wailumn) who were so nice everytime i fell down and took ages to start again!

Class shot! Happy people! And ASRLCT looks uh cramped up. Kaiherng's fingers are chopped of somewhere. And come to think of it, it looks a lot like a family shot (with mrlee and cheryl?! or maybe cheryl and cm as the parents/grandparents) ^^

Girl's shot with ASRLCT! Freaky light thing.

Guys shot!

First biking photo!

(sorry had had had to post this) MY FIRST BIKE RIDING EXPERIENCE WHICH I MOVED! XD so i wasn't in front, but the bike still moved XP

2nd photo taking stop!

Nik. After a few hours of biking and with cooler hair but you can't really see it here. sad.

third stop. chicken backside. =x

Freaky reflection? (no photoshop here)

Cute cat!

since i was sleeping while this was taken i assume these were the people awake/not bathing at 7+?

People who rode 10 hours to esplanade and back!

I think more people should bring cameras during class outings! And someone ask miaojing to post the pictures she took too! XD THese are only a few of the 30 pictures taken... Sorry for the darkness. My flash is like weird.
Class chalet rocks! XD
I agree! Let's go kbox! I'm sure yongzi will support it XD.

Mural Painting CIP

boo! im er.. back to bloggin by popular demand! yahahah. ok. no lah. im not. just that shirli demanded (ahem) that i blog abt mural painting today (maybe as a form of advert for fund-raising next week! 19th nov!) muahaha.

ok. so i slept from 5am to 1030am (dunno why i woke since the alarm is set at 12pm) and ate large breakfast n went to jamiyah's. could not find the 6 ppl (ben, alvin, kaiherng (ahah tempted to type sth else), kat, yongzi, and miaojing) who blended into wall or sth. white walls white aprons. took me awhile to find out what was going on (now im wondering why im bloggin about this since there's nth much that went on?) basically painted the whole day with limbs that were already aching alot. was in a huge mess before long and wondering if the apron really helps or what. >.< maybe the main purpose is to let the whole world know our (or at least mine) name which is written big and bold. oh well. at least i wrote. the rest didn't. guai1 me. the person ask me write then i went to write. bahh..

so painted till 8pm. by that time it was so dark (by my standards.. the rest could still see perfectly well) that i couldn't tell brown from black and argued about it till i gave in cuz i think my eyes got problem anyway. we finished the whole wall (YAY! IT'S A GREAT SENSE OF ACCOMPLISHMENT! WHEEE! high5!) and left for dinner. oopz. wait backtrack. when we were (finally) done, we painted '06s7d' and '11.11.06' on the wall in white. took pic but it din really show up. but the yellow (YELLOW!) sunflower was really nice! ^^ woot! so nice! haha. -jumps around- so if anyone visits jamiyah (from anytime soon to 10 years later (by which they'd have repainted it? noooo.. *heartache*)) you all go look for the corner with YELLOW sunflower and admire the pretty writing (each of the 5 of us left at the end of the day took turns to write 06s7d!. kh wrote 0, kat wrote 6, ben wrote s, i wrote 7 (whee!), and mj wrote d!) and take pic with it and hopefully it shows up (instead of sth else.. hmm).

dinner was.. haha. ate things that tasted like toothpaste, nicely whipped potato prepared by some pro person (^^), and multiple other 'sick'/'exotic' things. has zhongjimima but it's like we're all wanting to eat the weird thing whipped up cuz it's really nice and not horrible tasting. even though it tasted bleah-ish. basically normal things mixed with other normal things to yield weird things (e.g. coleslaw + chilli). actually there's some amusing quotes from kh, but decided not to say it here. wahaha. *imagines kat laughin her head off* lol.

recipe for 'toothpaste'
1. root beer
2. pepsi
3. chilli
4. whipped potato
5. fatter (lol! ask ben)
6. chicken crispy crumbs
7. cheese
8. coleslaw juice (eew)
9. er.. mayb no more liao. anything else?

yep. hope we all won't get stomachache tmr! haha. i doubt it since we ate all of those individually and mixing them is also part of stomach's routine anw.

that's all for now! someone go blog about chalet!

~06s7d!!! <3

p.s. so who going next week? ^^

Today

hahah today's OP went well for everyone i hope :) at least for the morning batch, we were all fine and dandy and giggling and sniggering at each other. yay 7D

after which, we went to watch the prestige @ cathay orchard. well, I, CM, andrew, adrian and nik did anyway. soon huat, shir li, kai herng and alvin watched the covenant (which is now damned as fireball/boyband movie). the prestige was really really fab :) then we slacked around in yoshinoya for a really long time discussing the minute details of the movie. then, we started walking around aimlessly for a damn long time and looking for the "open-air temple" as advertised by a singapore biennale sign outside the cathay cineleisure junction. we didnt find it, but it did set us walking all the way past somerset, past dhoby ghaut and seemingly heading towards SMU (where shir li was enthusiastically shooing us towards in her eager endeavours to get her hands on...CAKE)

BUT

however, we daoed SMU, and got distracted by the Singapore History Museum, which, surprise surprise, was one of the sites for the biennale. Being the curious souls we were, we ventured forth, and lo and behold...we found...incomprehensible art. Not to say we didn't have fun though, because we had truckloads of it, coupled with intrigue and the sort of morbid curiosity that comes with being in a giggly group. the exhibits in SHM mostly revolved around the theme of death, its fantastical nature, the disillusions and the perversity of the human spirit in orchestrating the end.

There was a really morbid but nonetheless compelling video entitled "The last supper". No it was not religious, but more of the last meal death row prisoners are treated to. It may seem inane here, but it was a fascinating tool for illustrating revelations regarding human cruelty, crime & punishment and even normalcy in the face of impending doom. Then there were these particularly sick and suggestive scenes where some king in Burma survived an assassination attempt, put the guilty fellow and the rest of his family to death, but spared one daughter. Spared one daughter, chucked her in a tower and everyday, an executioner would peel off her flesh slowly and force her to eat it. eeeeeeeeee.

Fuelled by our artistic fumblings at SMH, we felt encouraged to head on to the next site of interest, city hall :) so we happily walked there, and here are a couple of pics. (taken with a k700i so thus the inferior quality)

in front of city hall steps...v nice right? :)

at an exhibit mocking the g8 summit...look at alll the smiling faces...

shir li was a bit too scared to be in this photo lol...she was afraid of the pple behind.

well, if you have a chance, do go for the biennale before it ends :) arty farty singapore forever! viva la biennale!

Class Chalet

YAY let's go out at 2 or 3 am to see trannies lol nvm
Another way there is to take bus 2 all the way to Changi Village. You can take it from Tanah Merah Interchange. When you get off, please do not stupidly walk towards the beach and assume the chalet is there as I have once done before. It is not. Walk towards the Le Meridien (it's a hotel) and generally walk uphill. After a nice long walk, the chalet should be around there ba. Hee. Hey girls, maybe after handing in I and R on Thurs at abt 9pm, let's go buy stuff? Then can go my house and marinate or something then go Changi after that.

Someone PLEASE bring mahjong :)

Chalet

Yawn.

Anyway.. details which you should all know..

9th Nov.
check in time: 3pm
checkout: 8:30am to 10:30am (10th Nov)

The girls will be organising all matters related to the BBQ. I hope. Or if they aren't this is the time when they will suddenly realise that they are organising all matters related to the BBQ, which will occur approximately 4 days from the time of posting.

JR will be generously donating his balls for fun and games.

There isn't much of an itinerary, so it's a good time to suggest stuff to do, else it'll end up free for all where everyone brings random games..

I'd suggest we get the following:
Cards
Mahjong
Risk/Monopoly
Try and think of group games
Various chemicals from chem lab for pyrotechnics
Raid Jaime's house and steal her Xbox

P.S. If you arn't going, please leave a comment, or tell me or something.. Else assume you're going. And dunno if MJ reads the blog, so Adrian, you go ask her out to a chalet ^^

P.P.S http://online.aloha.gov.sg/Facilities/villas_detail.asp?Resrgp_Index=64

P.P.P.S. Uhm, according to what I can figure out.. the easiest way there is to take mrt to Tampines, then take 29 for 22 stops. Yea. If anyone knows otherwise please inform us, k thnx
